Did you know that babies recognise their mother’s voice even in utero? Science shows that by the third trimester, a baby can hear and distinguish voices, responding more to those that are familiar. This connection is rooted in trust, comfort and recognition, forming one of the very first bonds we ever experience as humans.
Now, imagine tapping into that same primal connection through your podcast.
Your voice isn’t just a tool, it’s an extension of who you are – your personality, your expertise, and your unique perspective. Leading with your voice means you get to inspire, connect, engage, and build a meaningful relationship with your audience.
I spoke more about this in my TEDx talk, The Magic of Listening. Honestly, though, that talk is a few years old, and if I could do it all over again, I’d do a couple of things differently. (First and foremost, I’d stop trying to pack in five big ideas at once. But that’s another story for another time)
One thing hasn’t changed though since I gave that talk:
My heartfelt passion, my steadfast belief and my eternal love for voices and how they can drive positive change (within us and others).
But this is not about me. This is about you and to demonstrate what leading with your voice can look and sound like, I’m thrilled to share an encore presentation of Nina Aziz Justin‘s podcast Business Bites. (Thank you so much Nina, for allowing me to share our conversation on my podcast too!)

This episode is a celebration in every way. We dive into launching Nina’s podcast, helping her find her unique voice, and seeing how she’s already using it to build stronger connections with her audience. Oh, and yes, we celebrate with cake. Of course!
We cover:
- The science behind how voices build trust.
- How starting a podcast can become the cornerstone of your personal branding strategy.
- Why podcasting is such a powerful medium for deep, authentic connections.
Why does this matter to you?
Because this is the kind of connection you want with your audience. Listeners hear your tone, your authenticity, and your passion, which makes them feel like they’re having a personal conversation with you.
Data from the Deloitte Digital Media Trends report highlights just how powerful this connection can be: 75% of podcast listeners say they trust the hosts they listen to.
This trust also creates a sense of community that few other mediums can match.
As a podcaster, you’re not just creating content, you’re building relationships. You’re shaping a space of belonging where listeners feel seen, heard, and understood. That’s the kind of bond that turns casual listeners into loyal fans, and loyal fans into advocates for your brand. (And clients!)
Starting a podcast isn’t just about hitting record. It’s about tapping into the power of leading with your voice to create content that resonates, inspires and connects.
So, if you’ve been toying with the idea of starting a podcast but aren’t sure where to begin or you have already started one, but haven’t tapped into leveraging your unique voice to the fullest so you can truly impact your audience, this episode needs to go on your playlist. It’s my end of year present to you, and one that I am certain will just keep on giving.
Yours,
Regina
